Writer and Novelist
* Born and studies in Beirut
* Started work as a trainee with the Lebanese press when she was still at university
* Moved to Baghdad to be with her husband during the seventies and worked with the press there and headed different departments at “Alef Baa” magazine
* Returned to Beirut when the political situation in Iraq finished the National Front
* Lived through part of the Lebanese civil war in the early eighties and worked at “Al Safeer” Newspaper
* Moved to Morocco because of the war in Lebanon and worked in the press in one of the most important newspaper “Al Alam” and “Communist Union” newspaper.
* Wrote novels and stories and scenario for TV and Radio drama as well as the Documentaries.
* Well known in most of the Arab countries through her weekly articles and short stories that appeared in magazines.
* Her first novel, “Black Grove” took the prize of “Al Katiba” magazine and som e of her TV and documentary work got different prizes.
* Published some short stories: The Port’s Swing – Ya Leil – Women outside the Script – Moon’s Troke.
* Asked by the Amnesty International/Arabia Publishers, to write a short story about the International Agreement to stop all racism against women under the title “Book of Aida”.
* She has a daughter and a son and lives now in London since 1993 working with Arab press.
* She does voluntary work with the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture and held many Arabic Cultural evenings to raise money for this foundation.
* A permanent gust at the weekly cultural programme “Papers”, which broadcast from BBC where she supervises a competition for short stories written by new authors and reads and discuss one every week.
* Some of her short stories translated to French, English German.
* Well known critics such as Edward Al Kharrat, Ghaleb Halasa, Yumna Al Eid,Mohammed Barada,Abbas Baydoun and Bashir Al Qamary, wrote about her work.
* Some of her work presented as a paper at a Moroccan University under the supervision of Dr. Rashida Ben Masoud.
* A new book titled, “My life with the Iraqi Fear” about her experience during her time in Iraq, soon to be published by “Dar Al Saqi”.
* She works at “Sayidaty” magazine as a member of the Editorial team and in charge of the Cultural
* +6epartment.
